Before making contact with our customer service representatives, please take a moment to review the frequently asked questions listed below. You will save time if your question is already answered below.
1. What does a fully recondition engine means?
A reconditioned engine as supplied by UK Parts means that the Unit has:
> been dismantled to the bare block, cleaned and inspected.
> Had ALL components inspected and/or machined.
> Had the engine block bored, honed and machined.
> Had the crankshaft and camshaft machined as necessary.
> Had the cylinder head completely reconditioned.
> Had new parts installed as required, including: lifters, pistons, rings, bearings, timing chain, guides, seals and gaskets etc.
> been assembled to the manufacturer's clearances.
At UK PARTS, we make sure the above reconditioning process is carried out to industry standards and to the original Manufacturer's specifi cations.
2. Is the Replacement engine including Turbo, water pump and alternator?
No, we use your own ones with the replacement engine. All the ancillary component e.g. Radiator, water pump, carburettor / fuel injection system, ignition system, ECU, Distributor, coolant hoses, temperature gage, RPM gage, Speed Gage are not part of the replacement engine.
3. Can I get the full report of my old engine failure?
Yes
4. My engine has been removed from my vehicle and has been stripped. Does it matter?
No, but you need to make sure no parts are missing from the engine, once the engine has been stripped by another garage or individual before the vehicle come to us., as our deal is on a exchange basis.
5. Can you collect my vehicle from a different address?
Yes, we can pick up your vehicle from any address, as long as it is within UK.
6. Would I get all the warranty documents in writing?
Yes, you would get all the warranty documents with all the necessary information on the collection day.
7. Is there any extra charges?
As long as the entire job requested by the customer is just to supply and fit the engine ONLY. There would be no extra charges. (please read the terms and conditions)
8. What extra services you provide to your customers?
• Free full Engine service would be done for all the customers on supply and fit.Please check the terms & conditions page for "what we mean by the full engine service? "
• M.O.T Can be arranged to be done before customer’s collection.
• On collection day, we would arrange to pick up the customers from the train station.
9. How long the whole prosess would normally take?
Normally it would take up to seven to ten working days due to high volume of customers.
10. Would I be able to collect my vehicle on Saturday?
Yes, you can collect you vehicle 9am till 2pm on Saturday and 9:00 till 5.00pm during the week.
11. What happens if something’s goes wrong within my warranty period?
If warranty becomes an issue, we would go as far as refitting another engine into your car absolutely free of charge.
12. What happens if I change my mind and would like to cancel the order with UK Parts?
All our orders are not subeject to cancellation and you can not cancel your order once you have paid for the engine and your payment has gone through.Penalty Charge for any cancellation after 24 hours on our supply deals is 30% of the engine price.
13. If I exchange my old unit with UK Parts would I get a better price? Yes, How ever UK PARTS supplies engines on an exchange basis any way to keep the cost down for the customer and for other reasons (foe example to give an engine failure report to the customers about their original unit), so the qoutation that you will receive from UK Parts would be on an exchange basis.
14. Is it possible to have more warranty?
Yes it is. Please check with our technicians for more details.
15. Can I ask for my original engine to be returned to me if I did change my mind to complete the job with UK Parts? Unfortunatley, once the original engine is removed to be stripped and assesed for engine faliure reasons on our supply and fitting deals, the customers can not ask for the original unit to be returned to them as it might be not availible any more or might have been scrapped.(on our supply only delas, once we received the exchange unit from the customer, the same terms would apply)
16. How can I check the progress of my vehicle?
You can check the progress of the vehicle on a daily basis, online(coming Soon). There would be an ID and Password provided to you from the sales department on the booking date. Alternatively you can ring our staff and ask for an update. Please remember we can not keep updating all our customers with the report due to high volume of customers unless we need to give or take any more information regards the entire job needs to be done.
17. How can I know that my engine has failed?
The best thing to do is to take your vehicle to a local garage and get a professional mechanic to check the vehicle, or if it’s not drivable, you can talk to our technicians and explain clearly what is the problem that you are experiencing with the vehicle, you might not need a new engine and your engine could just need some parts replacement such as new head gasket, ext…
18. Can you provide me with some basic knowledge of engine care for my new engine?
We would provide an engine basic care to all our supply and fitting customers. Alternatively, our customers can always seek advice from our technicians for any issues.
